Our event would not be possible without the donation of goods and services.
With the average American student spending under 30 minutes per day outside, the need to connect youth to the natural world in a meaningful way is more critical than ever.
Here in Southern California, the need to connect youth to the outdoors is great, and our science driven, adventure-filled 3 to 5 day programs provide students and teachers the unique opportunity to do place-based science in their backyard.
Moving Mountains is NatureBridge's premier Southern California fundraising event.
Because we believe that everyone should have equal access to enjoy our national parks and the outdoors, NatureBridge provides scholarships to over 50% of our participants. Funds raised at this event will ensure that our programs will be accessible to all. We hope to raise $100,000 - that will help us scholarship approximately 1,000 students in 2019. Your contribution will ensure that we meet this goal. We thank you for your generosity and
NatureBridge connects young people to the science and wonder of the natural world, igniting self-discovery and inspiring stewardship of the planet.
Founded in 1971, we provide environmental science programs for students in the world's best classrooms - our national parks. As the largest residential partner of the National Park Service, NatureBridge serves more than 35,000 students and teachers each year.
Nature Bridge has been providing three- to five- day residential environmental education programs at our campuses in the Santa Monica Mountains and Channel Islands National Park since 2010. We now welcome nearly 3,000 4th-12th grade students from over 50 schools each season. Not only do these students participate in our environmental science programs aligned with state, federal, and Next Generation Science Standards, they learn about stewardship, teamwork, and develop social and emotional skills. The majority of our students attend our programs with donor-funded scholarship support.
