In alignment with our values as an organization, we selected the greenest venue in the city for our event.
This year we are proud to host Moving Mountains at SmogShoppe in the Culver City neighborhood. Once a 1980s smog-check center, SmogShoppe is now 100 % solar- powered. With its LEED Platinum certification, it is recognized as one of the most sustainably designed urban spaces in the United States.
Food this year will be prepared by Chef Nyesha Arrington of Native, featuring progressive California cuisine celebrating the multicultural landscape of Los Angeles.
Entertainment will be provided by DJ Listening Pleasure, a longtime LA club, party, and radio DJ (KCRW, KPPC, KPFK, KXLU, WWOZ).
NatureBridge connects young people to the science and wonder of the natural world, igniting self-discovery and inspiring stewardship of the planet.
Founded in 1971, we provide environmental science programs for students in the world's best classrooms - our national parks. As the largest residential partner of the National Park Service, NatureBridge serves more than 35,000 students and teachers each year.
Nature Bridge has been providing three- to five- day residential environmental education programs at our campuses in the Santa Monica Mountains and Channel Islands National Park since 2010. We now welcome nearly 3,000 4th-12th grade students from over 50 schools each season. Not only do these students participate in our environmental science programs aligned with state, federal, and Next Generation Science Standards, they learn about stewardship, teamwork, and develop social and emotional skills. The majority of our students attend our programs with donor-funded scholarship support.
